Within the concept of 'ambient intelligence' it brings the hardware building blocks for interaction between the IT systems and other products and the ambience. It will influence thoroughly the way we live, think, work offering increased automation, increased performances in most human-equipment, equipment-equipment and equipment-ambient interactions. Advanced nanotechnology may build machines that are thousands of times more powerful—and hundreds of times cheaper—than today's devices. Nanotechnology is sometimes seen as “the next industrial revolution”.
