This is a B.Pharma Seminar and project report on Colonic Drug Delivery system. The colonic region of gastro intestinal tract become and increasingly important site for drug delivery and absorption. The targeted drug delivery would offer considerable therapeutic benefits to patients, in terms of both local and systemic treatment. The report focus on targeting mechanism of drug acting on colon, Ph-dependent delivery, time dependent delivery, pharmaceutical approach to colon targeted drug delivery, covalent linkage of the drug with a carrier. The colonic region of G.I.T is one that would benefit from the development and such modified release technologies. Although considered by many to be an innocence organ that may simple functions in the form of water and electro light absorption and the formation storage and explosion of fecal material, the colon is valuable to a No of disorders including alternative qualities corn's disease irritable bower syndrome and carcinomas.
